About the strategic plan

Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD) was established by Law No. (7) of 2008 to organize and develop statistical work in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and the center's role has been reorganized. The Centre’s work was reorganized by Law No. (5) of 2021, which placed SCAD under the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, to support government decision makers, adopting a decentralized approach to statistical work. The Centre has an independent legal personality and full financial independence and legal capacity to act in proportion to the emirate's direction towards sustainable development and strategic planning, under the supervision and full support of the Executive Board of The Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Pursuant to the new amendments, SCAD is responsible for building an information network and a unified channel that serves the Statistical System in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi by organizing, unifying and managing all aspects of the emirate's statistical work. This includes building and regulating statistical frames for all activities and sectors and updating them periodically, technical supervision of statistics and statistical data systems for government agencies and collecting, classifying, storing, analyzing, processing, archiving, publishing and protecting Abu Dhabi's statistical data obtained from data sources. In addition, the Centre is also vested with the role of making, developing and disseminating estimates, projections, analytics and forecasts and to support government agencies with reliable statistics. SCAD is authorized to contract with any entity or company within or outside the Emirate to undertake data collection and other statistical activities.
